Only thing I've ever found that doesn't leave white marks all over is something like "bumper black". Autoglym do a nice one, but it will leave a light sheen, not completely matt finish.

??? You are thinking of a matt black car? Reminds me of the blackboards of my schooldays! Must be nigh on impossible to keep free from marks, even the smallest will show up. If you are interested in a satin finish, then just spray it wit Halfords rattle cans-easy!

If you want an easy satin finish paint it with normal cellulose and leave the paint to dull naturally

I'm pretty sure its very hard to clean, I've heard that things like tree sap and bird poop can ruin it. Painting a Moggy in a non original colour also seems to have a negative effect on the price.

If you polish matt black it starts to become gloss black, but a dirty black not a nice black,I sprayed an old MGB matt black in the early seventies looked great for a week then down hill

Satin black is hard to keep even! I washed mine the other day for the first time and it went all streaky! :(
I re-washed with hot water and chamoised it off straight away and it came out pretty good. Any polish will gloss it up though and EVERY mark shows!
Its not a finish that i will use again for sure!![frame]Image[/frame]

LOL!
There was little to be saved from the original convertible, so i saved that little and built around it rather than scrapping the lot! :o

Well i love it. Certainly after that reasoning, it's better than scrapping it!

Thank you :D
It is known to us as "The Moke" as that was the general build idea, just on a Minor theme![frame]Image[/frame]
