replacement indicator switch - Lucas or pattern?

The old stalky-green-flashy indictator switch has just about worn out, and I'm looking at replacing it. Genuine Lucas at about £50, or pattern at about half that? Any opinions?
Hello, again, by the way!

I wouldn't be paying £50 that's for sure.

Can you not get hold of a good 'used' one ? What's wrong with yours - I thought they went on 'for ever'.

It's mechanical wear that's the problem. *waves hands around trying to describe it* -you know where the spring-loaded detents hold the indicator arm in the 'on' position, by locating in a groove with a ridge next to it? -and then the detent is pushed back by the thingy on the steering wheel column when you've done the turn, so that the stalk returns to the central position? -well, the ridges are worn down to nothing, so that the detent barely catches when you push the stalk.... does that make sense? *stops waving arms around now*

Happily, found a used but good Lucas one on Ebay. All working properly again!

Great success. There is no way now to 'recondition' the old one ?
