1954 morris minor

Post by clarissa »

I would welcome some advice! I am not particularly mechanically minded but have carried out a few restorations projects with the help of friends who are. I have just bought a 1954 morris minor saloon to restore and am hoping to use parts from a 1965 morris i already own and use as a 'donor' car. Could anyone tell me whether the parts will be compatible? Thanks.

Most of the parts will fit, although it will look like a bit of a hybrid. Some things will need to be matched or changed as a "system" like rear axle/speedo, engine/gearbox (floor and carpet for gearbox). The interior trim looks very different but is mostly interchangeable. Things that cannot be swapped (without a lot of work!) are front and rear screens, bonnet, headlining and not sure about some dashboard parts. The wiring will need some small changes depending on what parts you swap (indicators, starter etc)

You will get lots more information from the others on here...
