Brake master cylinder repair kit

Ok, so i got the cylinder out eventually!
Decided it only needs a repair kit, stripped it, but can i get the new rubber valve washer to locate in the grove in the main body of the cylinder?
can i hell!
any advice? and no, i dont want to shell out on a new cylinder, thanks!
