In early 1950 a moulding was added to the base of the roof of the 2 door where it met the top of the boot. This moulding extended for approx. 3 inches along the bottom of the rear side windows, past the rain gutters. In about 1956 this moulding was shortened so that it finished at the corners of the windows and rain gutters.
I have had enquiries from South Africa as to when the moulding was changed as it would help date some of their cars, it seems that a certain amount of chassis plate swapping has been carried out.
Therefore if anyone has a 1956-8 948 2 door could they please check the moulding. Photos would be good.
Many Thanks

Re: Roof Moulding
It would seem that this moulding was shortened in 1957. Could anyone with a 57 2 door Minor please check and let me know if they have the extended moulding or not and their chassis no please.
