Are you using a built-in mounting - or are they just bolted through the floor? You would be better investing in 'inertia' belts rather than extension pieces - surely just strips of steel?

I believe the floor / tunnel bolts are normaly normal nuts i.e. not captive nuts

however I have found with the spring washer you can normal change them as a one person not a 1.75 person job

Oh right -so does the adjustment on your existing belt not cover the amount you have raised the seat ? Exactly how much have you raised it????? And surely - a gentleman would do the underneath job leaving your assistant to hold the bolt head inside the car......

My static seat belts were short on adjustment for passengers of adequate girth so I decided that it was time to invest in some inertia belts. They used the same buckles so no need to grovel under the car, did not need constant adjustment and were not forever getting tangled
