Suspension bumps felt through steering wheel

Recently I've noticed a few vibrations/bumps through the steering wheel that weren't there before. The car still handles fine, I'm going to replace the rubber bushes, which after a quick look seem to be worn.
Is there anything else that I can reasonably easily, and cheaply replace while doing the bushes that might fix the problem? Its my daily drive so I don't want my car out of action for too long, and payday isn't for a while so I'm hoping not to have to spend hundreds... Do I need any specific tools other than spanners?
So far my list consists of a polyurethane bush set
http://morrisminorspares.co.uk/shop/pro ... a1b813abc8, I'm hoping to save on postage and get as much stuff that I might need though.
Thanks for you help.

Check track rod ends and tie bars

Had this problem on the MGB with lever arm dampers. When you change the bushes make sure the dampers offer plenty of resistance. Top up or drain and refill but if they leak it is better to change them.

What am I checking the track rod ends and tie bar for? Just wear? How will I know to replace them?
Also, if you dont mibd me asking, what do I replace the dampner fluid with?

I used straight 30w oil in my dampers. Works great!

Check the tie bars for any movement if you pull or push them. Tighten them if necessary. Check condition of tie bar rubbers.
Check track rod ends for split gaiters and any movement when turning the steering from lock to lock

Thanks for the replies everyone! One last question, the steering wheel itself has some room to wiggle a bit, is there a way to "tighten" it?

Remove the horn push and tighten the steering wheel nut

Also look at the pinch bolt on the bottom of the column.

It was the steering nut! Still going to change bushes and drain dampers though.
The steering nut is massive! No wonder the last owner didnt tighten it much...

I thought the steering nut was the person behind the wheel!
