Am really wanting a traveller

Hi all ,well after many years of classic vw ownership i sold my last one which was a splitscrren camper a couple of years ago and am now missing having something to tinker with as my seat arosa is just not the same ! i have always loved the travellers and any advice on finding a decent one andwhat to avoid what years are the better ones etc would be much appreciated . cheers gav.

The age of Traveller is up to you and what you want to use it for, they followed the same updates as the cars. As a former split screen VW owner you may want the nostalgia of a split screen Traveller in which case look for 1953-6. If you expect to use it frequently you may want the performance of a 1098, 1963-71.
They rust in the same places as the cars with the addition of wood rot, the wood is structual.
Just about every part is available by return of post with the possible exception of certain parts for the earlier cars and a decent Traveller should cost you a lot less than a split screen VW camper van.
Incidentally, I saw a very nice 1959 camper van last week
