I am new to the forum (despite being a member of the Club for 20 years!)
I have a 1952 MM Tourer which I have recently re-started restoring after a break of 10 years.(s'cuse the pun)
Upon tackling the brakes - Can someone advise if the later wheel and Master cylinders are a straight swap for the MM ones. The reason I ask is I know the threads are different on the MM. The pipes need replacing and I have some later pipes, a later master cylinder, Tees and flex hoses. So I could save a bit of cash by using these.
If the answer is negative can anyone advise where I could source MM brake hoses and pipes?

If you call one of the good parts suppliers like Bull Motif or ESM they should be able to advise which parts are different and which can be substituted.
Of course it is best to have some intent to buy some parts when asking a lot of questions but they can be very helpful and must get a lot of people calling just to know options or check prices before using somewhere else.

The front wheel cylinders & hoses are different from the later types. The master cylinder will be the same as the other cars, up until they changed the bore size later on (1963?). The rear brakes are the same as SII/1000.

Called ESM about this for someone else recently, the bore size is slightly different on the newer (1098 type - only one available new now...) but they reckoned that it was so slight you'd barely notice (if at all & they look the same so someone may have already changed it for one of these before...).... New master cylider was around £50 all in.....
