Battery Keeps Dying!!

Ok,

I am no expert so am slightly distressed having broken down again today!!!

The battery keeps failing, having only replaced it again 4 weeks, I am having to charge it up again tonight.....following being stranded in horrendous weather

Any ideas as to what this could be???

3 possibilities for you Kate.
1 the car is not charging the battery enough. Can you get hold of a multimeter to check it?
2 faulty battery, I know it is new, unlikely, but possible
3 something is draining the battery. Take a terminal off the battery and when you touch the terminal to the battery post does it spark at all? May be a very small spark, do it in the dark. And don't have the doors open or the interior light will be on.

Does the RED ignition light go out when you run the engine? Does the car have a dynamo - or an alternator? Worth checking if the fan belt is good and tight.
