18 With A Bullet
Behind the dash on Gladys, 1962 948 cc, I noticed that the 2 wires from the heater blower motor seem to have been elongated, and then run alongside the loom, out into the engine bay, with one wire going to the last terminal (extreme right) on the fusebox, and the other has been attached to one of the 3 screws which hold the metal loom plate in place.
Presumably this is to "earth" the connection?
However, behind the speedo, there is a 2 way bullet connector, running from the fuel gauge , which does absolutely nothing, and yet is definately "live".
Am I right in thinking that the 2 heater wires should really go into the bullet connector, or one wire into the connector and the other Earthed somewhere?
Best wishes

Can do - but make sure it's not the 10 volt stabilised output! Must be the green wire - not the light green wire.....

Re: 18 With A Bullet
Hi, the 2 wires from the heater are: one black, one white.
The part that seems to do nothing is a moulded rubber housing designed to take 2 bullets.
This is fed by 2 push in connectors at the bottom.
I hope this isn't the thing you refer to!

Hi, it's green to both the bottom connectors, I will check today to determine whether it's light or dark green.
THank you again for your help.

Re: 18 With A Bullet
Green is the fused Ignition fed supply - so put the white wire in there. The black wire connect to any convenient bare piece of metal.

Re: 18 With A Bullet
Hi, checked it out earlier and the bullet connector is attached to 2 terminals on the back of the fuel gauge, 2 light green wires left, one light green wire to the right.
I think this is the instrument voltage regulator, am I right?

Right, I think it would be better to re-=wire it as it was before, make a better Earth for it at the same time.
