Ebay have seen fit to delete the above listing which makes searching for spares a bit of a long process.

If anyone else wants to comment to Ebay here is the link

I have had a reply from them today and they said :

Thank you for writing eBay in regard to the Classic Car Parts category.

I apologise for the delay in getting back to you. This category has been removed as it saw very little usage. When a buyer searches for items, they rarely go by the category, and this is particularly true for classic car owners like you and me. When me and my friend search for parts for his MGB GT, we never select category lest we miss something that is listed in an incorrect category, and almost everyone I know does the same thing. Therefore, we all rely on keywords, and as long as the Make, Model, and Year, the holy trinity of classic car parts are there in item titles, anyone will be able to locate the parts.

I hope this is helpful and wish you all the best on eBay in the future.

Kind regards,

Anyone else contacted them and had a reply? :-?

I noticed the same thing a few days ago, and have sent them an email about it this evening. The 'Other Car Parts' category that's replaced it is vastly inferior, as it's mostly full of uncategorised modern car parts and makes finding what you want much more difficult. Would be even worse if you were trying to find bits for something like a classic Ford Escort, as parts for 1968 and 1998 cars would appear in the same category and search!

The cynic in me says this may be to do with trying to make it less convenient to sell project cars/breakers in that category, rather than in the much more expensive 'Classic Cars' section.
