full beam light

ok here goes again if you can cast your mind back i had a problem with fullbeam not working i managed to fix this but what is annoying me now is when i press for full beam at the top of the speado a red light comes on to tell you its working i thought from peoples answers on here it is meant to be blue light is this correct with it being red if not is it an easy fix or ami just as well to leave alone it is annoying me tho.

It depends on the year of the car. Early cars were red later ones blue. IIRC the change was around 1963.....

Gold speedo = red light
Black speedo = blue light

ok i have a gold speado 1961 i guess its red then. thanks for the info

The topmost light LOOKS violet, right? But it's an effect of the camera. In real life, these colors were quite different -- the oil light, for instance, was army green, not turquoise.
However, yes, the magnolia speedometer should give a reddish (certainly not blue) light when high beam is on. It's not the same red as the ignition light.
