Mix of wrench sizes on brakes

Just replaced the wheel cylinders and flex hoses on the front of our ’61 Morris Minor 1000. What a mix of wrench sizes. One of the mounting bolts for the cylinders has a ½”(AF) head, the other one is 11/32” head, one end of the new flex hose is 15mm, the other end is 18mm, the large nut that holds the flex hose to the chassis bracket is ½” BSW, and the fittings on the steel lines are 7/16” (AF)

Got one side all together and couldn’t put the drum on. The shoes would not centralize because the mounting foot of the wheel cylinder was obstructing them. Had to take it all apart so I could remove the cylinders and cut a bit of the corner off of the mounting foot on each one. So naturally I cut the corner off the cylinders for the other side before installing them. Lots of material there so it doesn’t weaken then at all.

These were the supposedly “Genuine Lockheed” cylinders from Bull Motif, although the writing on the box says Caparo ap braking Genuine OE Made in UK

I am in the middle of changing bits on my 9 in Wolseley brakes. Started off as no brake lights. Check brake light switch -
terminals corroded. Had new switch but screw terminals - Series MM had spade connector switch so swapped it for screw connector switch. One switch was 1 in A/F socket, one was 7/8 A/F and the other was 15/16 A/F. Fitted switch from MM to Traveller after removing heater pipe, tested brakes still no lights, noticed brake fluid. Had fractured the front right hand brake pipe. Jacked up car and removed wheel 11/16 A/F socket. Removed pipe 7/16 A/F spanner and matched pipe to my bag of spares. Removed horn bracket7/16 socket and ring spanner, fitted new pipe, so far so good. Tried to undo bleed nipple 3/8 A/F ring spanner - siezed solid, checked tin of spares, no good parts. At this point I am glad that I fitted Morris Morris wheel cylinders not Wolseley. New cylinder and bleed valve in post, will continue tomorrow

The bleed valves I removed from the old cylinders both had 1/4"W heads but the thread sizes were different. Glad that I had ordered new bleed valves w/the new cylinders. The head on the new bleed valves is 10mm,

I think that I found my bleed valve was 10mm which is probably why it got chewed up but it still would not come off with mole grips
The wheel cylinder never arrived, the suppliers cocked up after they should have sent it next day delivery so I will probably have to wait until Tuesday, wasting a bank holiday when I could have sorted the brakes. I have also just found a brake light switch with spade terminals so I did not need to swap them over.
