Hi all, does anyone know if these would fit a 1098 standard minor engine? they are currently on a 998 morris mini cooper. cheers[frame]

If they have come from another A series engine they should fit fine - although the mounting flange looks an unusual shape in the photo to me. Also twin carbs are more complicated than a single carb, you would be better off going for a 1.5" or 1.75" single carb to be honest. These look like a pair of 1.5" carbs, much too big for a standard 1098.

These are not 1.25" carbs - probably 1.5". Too big for a standard engine........ Single 1.5" is best for a standard engine. But if determined - they can be fitted.

twin carbs are too much aggro to balance and aren't the most economical at the best of times. i had these on a car, but sold them and fitted a 1.5 single SU. a hell of alot less hasstle and my money stayed in my pocket longer.

They'd be just the ticket on 100+BHP engine with a maniflow manifold. I have an HS4 on an alloy manifold if you're interested in an exchange?

The twin carbs in the photo dont look like they are on an A series manifold to me - what do other people think? the area where it attaches to the head looks different.

It looks aftermarket or non A-series to me. It is quite odd that it is water heated!

I agree - but we are assured they are 'on a 998' at the moment........ The spacing is too wide - possibly MGB........ Certainly not 1 1/4 carbs........

They appear to be horizontal not semi downdraught and the manifold stud holes are in the wrong positions.
Twin 1.25s look good under the bonnet but probably less efficient than a single 1.5

Maybe it's just a 'generic' picture.......
