Anti Freeze
Is Halfords Advanced Anti Freeze OK for MM's?
Re: Anti Freeze
I have just purchased some - I would have put it in if my radiator plug didn't tear out a hole in my radiator...
I think it is - its ethanol glycol based (other than being blue, there is confirmation here http://answers.halfords.com/answers/402 ... stions.htm - "all Halfords antifreeze is ethylene glycol based." so it should be fine!
I'm sure someone more expert will come and say otherwise if its not though.

I don't know if the MMs had any specia/unusual l metals in the system that would require a special anti-freeze. Later Minors are fine with any glycol antifreeze.

Re: Anti Freeze
The important thing is that in a Minor you should use only inorganic acid technology such as traditional Bluecol. Do NOT use anything that says "organic acid technology". You cannot rely on the colour.
Re: Anti Freeze
"Halfords Antifreeze is based on mono ethylene glycol (also referred to as ethanediol) and contains a silicate based corrosion inhibitor. It is a conventional type of antifreeze that is not based on OAT technology."

As long as you don't get the "advanced" stuff - which is based OAT then it should be fine then.
