chassis leg difficulty?

Hey all,
basically i have a big dint on my chassis leg and just want to know is it hard to replace one??? do you need special jigs to make it all in line or anything???

With the engine out its an alright job, special jigs aren't essential, but take lots of careful measurements first.

Is the leg otherwise sound? If it is then it would be easier just to "pull" the dent out. Body shops do it all the time on panels.
If it's already rusty, of course, get a replacement or maybe a pair. Once you start looking for it you will probably find more trouble than you bargained for. :o Ask me how I know :lol:

its clean i think apart from that, if i were to pull it out, would it be as strong as before???

Can't see it causing much harm - is it due to jacking up on the leg without using a length of timber as a load spreader ?

im guessing so, yes. but its been there since i bought it, so cant deffinatly say. just thought i should ask as my minor will be under abit more stress than usual.

Mine was, i filled it with metal putty then undersealed over it, however i am now having to replace the leg..
