Wilkinson's have 4.5L 20/50 motor oil, at £7.67.
It is not stamped on the tin but I am informed it is API SE CC. I believe this is OK for our engines.
Is this just too cheap.
Regards Win.

It's perfect for a standard engine - stock up because this is now just about the only source of reasonably priced 20W50.

I have run happily on "Formula" 20/50 for years.......Only started to doubt myself when I recently did an oil change on a late model Mini and used Morris Lubricants classic golden film 20/50. That stuff is like nectar! It flows much, much more slowly (took ages to drain through the rocker gear!).
So how can 2 oils with the same viscosity rating flow at different rates, which is after all the way viscosity is rated...?

Regarding oil, on reading the can, the information about Halfords classic oil mentions some sort of quality it has for 'swelling' the oil seals etc, presumably to help reduce leaks. Well, I wasn't too sure about that and would like to know what it's all about.
Any answers?

Well I presume there is some chemical added that acts on rubber, I was put off to be honest, until I found out more.

Cant get it from Wilkinsons on line, they have run out, but B&Q have it. Carlube Daytona 20W50 Motor Oil at just below £12. Still fairly cheap!!!
