seam sealer, filler and primer

Post by stag36587 »

Hi

I have successfully butt welded some small repair sections into the front floor/toeboard corners and fitted an offside rear quarter repair panel. I need some advice on best way to fill/seal the joints.

On the floor sections, I was planning to just seam seal the joints before priming and painting. On the rear quarter repair, I was planning to just seam seal the interior side of the joint but on the exterior, use metal filler then etch primer, "normal" primer and paint.

Does this sound sensible or should I do something else?

thanks

Seam sealer internally sounds good, I think I would prefer standard filler outside if needed though, I'm not too sure about this metal stuff.
