Master Cylinder

Post by salty_monk »

Anyone know whether the master cylinder from a '69 1098 car will fit an 803cc Series MM highlight split screen model 1953?

IF it does fit, it will be a different bore (my first guess would be yes). That's not a big deal but changes the braking 'lever' ratio a bit.
However on a 53, there's no guarantee that it has the original m/c as it may already have had another one transplanted sometime in the last 20+ years.

You could always take a bit of license and phone one of the 'better' parts suppliers as if you were looking for one ;-) They should be able to advise regarding which cars the 1098 m/c will fit.

Good idea Ray.... Just phoned ESM & you are spot on... the bore is slightly bigger but so slight you probably won't notice...
