Morris Minor Owners Club

Hi All.
Although I am a ''newbie'' to this forum I have played with motors for a while. I restored a Triumph Vitesse Converible for my son but when he checked the insurance it had to go.
So now its time for me, I thought I would buy a car that was built the same time as I was born 1963 hopefully look after it as I should look after myself (gulp).
So I am presently restoring my 1963 Morris Minor, even travelled all the way down South from the Midlands. I will forward pictures over the weekend weather permitting.
Any guidance/help/shoulders to weep against would be greatly appreciated and reciprocated in times to come.

Welcome to the Forum.If you've restored aTriumph Vitesse convertable then you shouldn't have much problem with a Morris.

Loads of information / help available on the Forum from people who have "been there/ done that ".Parts suppy is very good with not too many "unobtainable".
The only thing that persoanlly drives me mad about Minors is the mix of nuts and bolts fixings ( see the mechanical section for spanner sizes ),You'll need a set of Whitworth spanners and sockets to complement the AF set you've probably got already.
A couple of BIG sockets needed, one for the steering wheels nut and the other for rear hub ( some pass on the later and use a hammer and cold chisel....effective but not for the purists !! ).

Forum members love pictures and appreciate a comprehensive description of problems, to allow them to problem solve effectively.In my experience feedback...e.g. satisfactory conclusion to a problem is encouraged.
