Hi everyone!
Thanks to the -ve earth conversion instructions on the site - I have just converted Hebe to -ve earth. The best part; It only took me 10 minutes!
While I had the bonnet up I played with the idle speed and found out that, according to the Handybooks's Owner's Handbook: Minor 1000, it was a bit slow (the idle speed was really low and while I know it IS low on minors, it was certainly less than the one-and-a-half turns past the connection of the adjustinc screw. Hebe's now happier and her non-charging light goes out when idling now (before you had to touch the throttle or pull the choke out a tad).
Happy with the conversion and checking everything works fine, I can now get a radio put in for the long drives I've got to do in September between Wokingham and Lincoln for occasional lecturing.
Next on the cards: Getting the exhaust hanger fixed - it's rattling and neither I nor the local garage could tighten it up - a quick trip to a lift and application of an angle grinder should sort the old bolt and see a new one fixed. At least now I know what the rattling was when Hebe was at lights...
