I am in the process of becoming a new Minor owner. The car I am interested in needs a few odds and ends replacing and I would be grateful for any information and help please. The car needs replacement door and rear cards, replacement front bumper overriders (rusty). Are these parts easily available and roughly what should I expect to pay?

Many thanks in anticipation.

Hi Welcome to this site. Door cards - both front and rear together with bumpers are available brand new from any Morris Minor supplier. They do appear on Ebay as well. It depends on your budget Roughly new £66 + VAT for 2/4dr front cards, £100 for rear +VAT and front and back bumper chrome blades £85 each +VAT.

Put a request in the Wanted section of this site? Don't forget to state the year/month of manufacture of your car together with the colour you require.

Welcome to the forum. Almost all bits are available. Any problems, just ask, that's what the forum is for!

The parts you mention are possibly the least important parts on any Minor - is that seriously ALL that needs renewing???? Let's see some pictures of your prospective purchase - and most important of all, does it have a BRAND NEW MOT ???

As Roy says those are cosmetic issues.
Is the car sound underneath? Is a much more important question.

Thank you all for the information. I am waiting to view as owners currently away so only going on info supplied by them! Pure coincidence, I have just seen the car advertised on this site. It is a 1965 Snowberry Convertible advertised by peterknight. If anyone has the opportunity to look I would be very grateful for any views and comments as I am a complete novice in this field!

Thanks again

Note the word "converted" in the advert, not an original convertible. Nothing wrong with that provided it has all the correct strengthening panels added. Find out who did the conversion.
Also check the wiper rack, the wiper blades should be parked evenly at the bottom of the screen, it may just be an arm that needs repositioning.
People always neglect the engine bay when preparing a car
