Alarm

Could someone please advise on this security system.
There is also a fairly rudimentary printed circuit, with relays into which feed two switches mounted on passenger shelf. One seems to be on/off and the other a form of attenuation (I think).
There is another associated slider switch beneath the central instrument console. Control is by key in driver side door column.
Works well on door opening but I think it probably does more, noting the trembler switch.
Can anyone direct me to a circuit diagram or perhaps give chapter and verse on what it is capable of.

Many thanks.[frame]Image[/frame]

Looks scary to me...... don't rely on this electronic miracle - do fit a secret switch in the power supply to the fuel pump.....

Most likely outcome of using it is a flat battery and annoyed neighbours.

A hidden switch to the petrol pump feed is a good way to stop it being driven away but you need to remember to use it.

My plan is to use a phono plug and socket to make the circuit to the pump with the plug attached to the key.
That way it I won't have to remember a switch.

It's a Selmar alarm, it reacts to movement. There should be a cylindrical cover fitted.

Isn't the slider switch under the dash for your instrument lights?

Thanks for the response. A name certainly helps. Also the dashboard switch ! Will investigate.

The slider switch under the speedo is certainly the dimmer/brightener switch for the instruments. :D

Spot on with the dash board slider switch. Thanks.
Have now by-passed the trembler system and using the alarm on all four doors - works well.

But no match for preventing car theft to that secret switch....
