if the engine is standard, can't you use standard needles and springs from an MG midget?

Mr Vizard says red springs and DN needles for a 'standard non-S 1275' with twin HS2's.

Standard engine but rich is red springs with BQ needles, and the same setup goes for a non-S 1275 with a modified head.

Modified Head with extractor exhaust = red springs and BP needles.

hope this helps.

Better to NOT use twin 1 1/4" SUs. A single HIF 44 will be FAR better - with a BDL needle, and play about with the spring to find what suits best. If you feel you must use the twins - may as well try whatever is in the carbs at present. It has a good a chance of being correct as any other guess!
