ok first my name is scot and i have just bought a morris minor it has been sitting in a garage for 3 years and the guy i bought it from had bought it from someone that had restored it when i got it it was not running right turned out it was 2 spark plug leads on wrong way round thats fixed next i set the tappits very noisey now set and fixed so all looking good front brakes were seized so freed them of and blead them rear brakes seem ok maybe needing slight adjustment.

ok nuff said now to the problem on pressing the brake it feels like a brake it sinks a little and feels ok its when you release the brake and apply it again it is rock hard and feels as if its not braking as good as when you first press it any help would be really appriciated and also can someone point me in the right direction to purchase a rear gearbox seal where the prop goes in its leaking pretty bad from there.

thanks in advance

kind regards
scot

Welcome to the forum! Do the brakes actually LOCK the wheels when you press them ? Should be able to do so at 20 mph on a dry road. I suspect there may be a little air still in the system - and it's pumping up on that second press. Bu it's quite normal for a second press to be shorter travel/harder - the first press closes up the shoes to the drums, and they probably don't fall right back before you do the second press - and so the different feel to the pedal. As long as they work ok and can lock all 4 wheels - you will get used to them - but do have another round of bleeding - and perhaps adjust them up again after an initial 'bedding in' after their long rest. That seal is available from all the usual suppliers - Bull Motif /Moss/ESM...
