Fitting front seat belts in 2 door

Greetings all,
I have non-standard seats in my 1957 2-door saloon. My understanding is that seat belt mounting plates, etc., were not added until several years later. I would like to quickly add some basic static lap belts to the front seats. Is it OK to simple bolt them them to the floor under the seat bracket, or attach them to the seat bracket? Or will this not be strong enough? I see ESM and others sell brackets and so forth, but I'm looking for a solution more available here in the States.
Here's some pics of my seats:[frame]
