You can buy the complete kit to convert a 2 door saloon to a
convertible. It is not for the faint hearted and you need to know
what you are doing. Yes, you will have to inform your insurance
company and the DVLA. The premium should not alter but they
may not cover theft of contents due to the ease of entry via
the hood. I would have thought that paying an expert to panel
beat the roof back to shape so that you only have to finish with
filler would be considerably cheaper than a conversion.

moggyminor16,
If the roof is dented at the front you could go for a sunroof.
If it's dented further back, you could look for a big webasto sunroof..

Or just a panel beater, but a roof is not an easy thing to straighten.

believe the conversion kit is around £700, there is a guy on here who posts (from Essex) who is about 3/4 the way through a conversion, you may want to talk to him. Believe his name is Rob & he goes under the username of Captnchaos.
Do a search & send him a PM.

There was an article in Practical classics or classic cars telling you all about these & where to get a supply of NOS or professionally fitted.
I probably still have the article & will try to dig it out if I remember... I loosely remember the fitted cost being £350 but I may be completely wrong...
how I want one of those!!
Yep - would definitely be nice!
