I have a heated inlet manifold and was thinking about fitting a none heated inlet manifold but, not sure what vehicle had them fitted. Can any one advise?
I'm sure there's many Pro/cons for and against a heated vs a none heated manifold.

You simply don't connect the water heat pipes...... In theory, the colder the air/fuel gas mix going into the engine, the more dense it will be, and therefore potentially the more power will be produced - hence use of 'intercoolers' on blown engines. Most twin carb inlets for the A series have no heating - there's a good reason! But - it is just arguable that in winter - fuel can 'pool' in the inlet manifold at low flow rates, and so it's possible that heating the manifold will help to evaporate that fuel - and may lead to better economy/emissions around town. It will NOT prevent carb icing - a common myth!!

If it's plumbed into the return feed from the heater, as mine is, then when you're not using the heater in summer it won't get heated. "Simples!"

You obviously live in a warmer climate than I do Stig....... not use heater in summer - that's a laugh!

I sometimes have to use the heater element in summer if stuck in traffic as it acts as an extra radiator to assist engine cooling.
