Hi all, just bought a low milage Ital engine and box to put in my moggy van. First question, will the gear box go in the moggy? I have done a search but didnt find much about fitting an ital gear box. Second question, Will an ital diff go in a moggy axle or am I better off trying to fit the axle. paied far too much for the engine and box so no negativity please
Second thoughts, any advice welcome
Cheers

Some have squeezed the Ital box in - but it's a tight fit. Most just use the Minor box, or a fancy Ford 5 speed box....... And no - the Ital diff won't fit the Minor axle - you would need to fit the complete Ital axle .......

Thanks for that, when you say squeeze, in what way. Towards steering rack or between chassis rails. The box in my van is just about hanging on. Having fitted a ford one in my saloon I'm not keen to spend all that money again. The engine I have bought has the gear box available and as I have a Marina clutch on the shelf I thought engine and box would be the way ahead. I can get the axle which Im going to need if I use the box so I suppose its a wheel change as well ????? is the axle a straight swap. What about prop shaft ?
Id like to hear from anyone who has done this so I can avoid mistakes. Plan Is to get the van to the IOM TT with a couple of bikes on the trailer

It would mean a wheel change - and I expect the Ital prop shaft would need shortening. And is the Ital clutch hydraulic operation?

I think probably 4.55 for LCV. The 4.22 will be better - but a 3.9 would be even better with a 1275 and a 3.7 would be perfect!
