Roll Out The Barrel?

Hello, In renewing the throttle cable on Gladys (1962, 948cc), I have got a replacement throttle cable barrel housing along with a clevis pin.

The thing is, how are these fixed firmly in posistion?

I kinda' imagine it must be a split pin (none came with the new parts) but is this correct, and if so, what way does one fit them?

I will be grateful for any advice.
Best wishes

Split pin and a washer normally.
Put it on such that the cable has a straight run from the outer.
Larger part away from the carb from memory.

Yes - the cable outer butts into the larger part - with the inner going on through... And several washers - and a good solid split pin are used - sufficient to allow the barrel to swivel - but not to wobble about.

Ah, right, so that's how it's done.

I'm so grateful for your advice as I was going to secure the barrel housing so tight that it wouldn't move at all!
Swivel but not wobble,
Thank youso much for your advice.
