KDF 285

Post by Arcachon »

I expect you Series MM folk know all this already so sincere apols, but it's kept me amused for a bit ...
KDF 285 is on the 'Wall of Cars' at the new Riverside Museum Glasgow.
I couldn't see it in the MM reigister (so my old eyes prob'ly missed it).
I Freedom of Information-ed it.

Their Social History Curator Mr Robertson been v helpful. He emails:
"... Morris Minor KDF 285. This is on display on the Car Wall display at Riverside and it was in the Car Showroom at the old building. The chassis number is SMM 72876, the engine number is 73060 and it is 918cc. The vehicle was first registered in 1950 and donated to us in 1970." (Hi Mike! Apols if you had this on on your list already.)

Now the tricky bit (for me.) I've tried to attach a photo which I found on the net.
http://riversidemuseum.files.wordpress. ... 4_01th.jpg.
If you can see it, aren't there a few things not quite right with KDF 285 ... ?[frame]Image[/frame]

I should expect to see the front chairs, or is this not possible from this position?

Thanks for all your replies.
Interesting pic of the interior.
Wrong seats - possibly door pulls as well?
I had a feeling things weren't quite right...
(And is the 'Morris Minor' badge on the side of the bonnet correct for a 1950 MM?)

Door cards wrong
Single wiper - Just about OK
Morris Minor badge OK
Looks like a plastic glovebox lid badge
Rail below rear window OK for late 1950
Number plates are factory fit, not dealer fit. See photos of demo cars.
