I havent ever been under my morris (shame on me) but have just bought some ramps (ebay bargain) and going to take a look. i keep hearing about waxoil but havent a clue on level prep required, is it just a wire brush off or the whole rust inhibitor route...
can a knowledgeable member please give me a simple step by step "how to" guide i can follow through on.

something along the lines of...1. jet wash underneath (carefully) 2. treat any areas of rust with.....

(yes i am new to venturing under betsys undercarriage for a sneaky look-having only just puchased some very rusty ramps)

Waxoyl is good for inside box sections but offers little protection in places that get battered by road grit and stones.
Some use underseal, some go back to bare metal, do rust treatment and then paint because then fresh rust shows up by blistering the paint, whereas underseal tends to hide it.
I have drilled holes to spray waxoyl in the cavities with a parafin gun and then put grommets in the holes.

You can't have too much waxoyl IN the cavities as beero suggests, Best to heat it in v hot water, thin it slightly with 'turps' or white spirit - and spray it in forcefully on a good hot day!

Better to use something thinner inside box sections such as Dinitrol 3125 or Dynax, and use thicker wax (Waxoyl etc) protection on the underside of the car. It needs re-treating at least once every year on high impact areas such as wheelarches/ inner wings etc or you will be down to bare paint again.

I would only rely on paint alone on a car that is never driven in the wet!

To Waxoil, or not to Waxoil, that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous corrosion,
Or to take arms against a sea of ferrous oxide.

Better not to put any on places in dire need of welding as it can burn.

Best to get some wax protection in there or next winter, road salt, snow etc, really will be the winter of your discontent! If you don't get waxoyled up then "Something really could be rotten (in the state of Denmark)"

Come MOT test time your car will say to itself "is this really an MOT corrosion testers tool I see before me?"

Finally, a drop of waxoyl could have prevented the lovers tragedy!

Verily though Waxoil is a most marvellous preventer of ye rot, 'twill not make it fine metal again!
Said metal has endured several score winters already, should another prove it's doom 'twas too far gone, and should be replaced toot sweet!

You're meant to apply it to the panels - not drink it!
