Couple of questions - basically the paint has all chipped away on the bottom from a small dent on my drivers front door where someone reversed into me, and now there is rust under the flaking paint so my questions:

Easier to replace the lower panel or the door?
What sort of money am i looking at for a door or should i just get a half decent "scrap" one and respray and reuse my existing door furniture? (the existing one was trafalgar blue at some point, but is now rose taupe!)

Whilst i am doing this i need to also replace the draught excluder - mine appears to clip on the body shell (certainly down the front where it is currently hanging off at least!) by little metal clips, but the ones i saw at the national appeared to push into a groove - are there two types or am i going mad?

and then i may as well do the carpet in the drivers footwell - everywhere else in the car is fine, but the driver footwell is threadbare - can you buy the individual panels? all i have seen is full sets!

long list as usual - sorry people. By the way, the National left me with car envy - all that polish, all those clean boots.....

If the rust is from the outside just sand it back to clean metal and repaint it.
Little metal clips are standard, a picture would help a lot.

The prices at the National should have given you a rough idea, or check out ebay to get an estimate of what they are going for. Prices can vary widely though but you may get a good door cheaply, and locally, if no-one else is interested in it. But as Marky has already said, you may be able to repair it easily rather than fit a whole new door. Post up a photo so we can see the damage.

You're not going mad! :) A 'push on' type is also available from most suppliers, in addition to the 'original' type with clips, but only in black I think.

I don't think you can buy individual pieces from suppliers but try ebay or post in the 'wanted' forum here as you may get lucky (worth posting here for a door too if needed).

Looks like it has been heavily skinned with filler on top of rusty metal - start stripping it all off to get down to clean metal........
