(hedgerow find) Help with year for my morris minor

Hiya
don't know if you could help me, i got this morris minor today
and wonder if any one could tell me what year it is, i have the car no, engine no and the reg.
Car No: FBE 11 27 93 37
Engine No: APHM 11 72 77
Reg: VPG 663

The rear bumper with the bridging piece in the middle would indicate that this is a fairly early Series MM. But the APHM in the engine number makes it a Series II with an 803cc A series engine. I have mislaid the book that tells me when they went to a one piece bumper but I thought it was prior to the Series II. The car may have had an engine swap, so it could be a 1951 model but the engine makes it 1953/54. Who has Paul Skilleter's book to confirm some of these details?

The "FBE" suffix makes it at least April 52 onwards and the "27" in the chassis number makes it around July / Aug 54.
