I hope someone can help me with this small problem. I was hopeing to fit the new draft excluders to my convertable, I have the new ones and also the clips but just cannot work out the way they should be fitted. Its as if they have no grip on the clips and just dont stay in place. If someone could explain with some pictures thanks.

the little clips go on the edge of the frame at equal intervals.

I believe their are two type of excluder, one made from spring steel, which when pushed over the the clips springs back and is held in place.. the other is made of aluminium and when pushed over the clip it does not spring back and therefore falls off!

the way I have fitted the aluminium ones in the past is to get a pair of nail pincers and file the pincer bits so they are rounded and will not cut the rubber.. using pincers allows you to reach over the front of the door edge and "close" the aluminium at the edge closest to the body work.

then it simply a case of pushing on the excluder as far it goes and using the pincers to close up the aluminium so that it is gripped over the clips.. I find working 4 to 5 cm lengths at a time works best for reduced levels of stress.. if you can wait until end of july i can send some photos when i fit the draught excluders to my dads car.

and the clips will also dig into the paint, also the draft excluder can not normally be re used if you get it wrong
