Just a quick one,

Got some carb cleaner spray to clean the rear hub bearing with, but i'm not too sure as to what extent I should be cleaning the bearing?

Do I just spray all over the bearing, inside and out? or is there areas of it that I should avoid getting the spray on? ie can I go wrong and do damage?

TIA :D :D

If you do clean the bearing, are the ball bearings visible enough to be able to get lots of new grease inside? If not, and they don't sound gritty and have too much play when you spin them, they are ok. Just wipe the outside faces clean.

The bearing needs to be immaculate - spray and spin repeatedly until it is spotless.

I wouldn't if they are sealed bearings!

It's not a sealed bearing so I intend to clean it up really well. It's the wheel bearing from inside the rear wheel hub, are they not all the same ie open so you can see the ball bearings.

You can use petrol to clean it too.
Not recommended if you smoke!

It should still be perfect when oil free, no play or jitters when spun.
If it is then slap it back in with some oil to get it started.
Any doubts then replace it.
