Having looked at the top entry in this Forum for Wiring diagrams, may I suggest that in any Minor Matters articles on wiring, especially for modifications, then digrams such as this are worth any thousand words . I recently sent corrections to the Club Manual suggestions for wiring in an Alternator. The Club manual clearly only related to an early Minor and its instructions ( wiring colours) were wrong for later models. I have also added a Hazard warning system, with written instructions instead of a simple picture - not that difficult but a nuisance. I am currently chewing over details of wiring in an electronic points sytem. Again its all words, where a simple diagram would have said it all. What do others think?

Barry's diagram is very good - worth printing out and laminating - and carrying in the car! I wouldn't be worrying about 'electronic' ignition - not worth all the hassle - not to mention expense. Points are fine for the A series.

Wiring colours should be the same throughout the diagrams, just different components. Having said that I noticed that the colour coding for courtesy lights changed between diagrams. I agree that there should be a wiring diagram for an alternator sytem. On the Series MM website there is a diagram for fitting extra indicators and operating them from the trafficator switch

A wiring diagram for fitting an alternator has previously been posted here:[frame]

Not sure who produced it - maybe Moggytech? I could post this as a 'sticky' if it would be helpful?

Indeed - I think I suggested that before - just add it to Barry's diagram page ?? In fact of course they don't need to be 'new' cables - the D and F cables can be used - just relocated as per that diagram.
