i have a 66 2 dr saloon that has been totaly stripped down to the shell for restoration. there is nothing on or in the shell whatsoever.the car runs on a dynamo but when i rebuild it i would like to run it on an alternator.
do i buy a loom for the alternator car?
or
do i buy a loom for the dynamo car and a conversion kit?
if i buy a dynamo loom i'am left with the regulator.
the idea is to remove the voltage regulator and make that area of the engine bay a bit tidier.
i have searched the web for some pics of an engine bay that runs an alternator but i have had no luck. any pics would be helpful.

May as well buy an alternator loom - although there is v little difference at the actual generator - check with the supplier how it dispenses with the regulator.

or
has any one fitted an alternator and removed the regulator and made a tidy job of the wiring.
info and pics or links would be helpfull

You either leave the regulator in place - or fit connector block (or some use a fuse box) in that location. It's not difficult!
