Good Place for an MOT in Birmingham

Hi All,

I just moved from East Anglia to the Birmingham area, and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good place to get an MOT on my minor done. I had a good guy in East Anglia. He'd go over any failures with me, telling me what needed to be fixed and how. I'm kind of looking for a similar thing. Should I just go to "the local garage down the road"?

Jonathan

P.S. I gotta say thanks to you guys for supporting me with my Minor for 4 years. I've turned from someone who knew relatively little about mechanics to being able to diagnose and swap out parts with relativley little instruction. It's been a good experience!

I use Mere Green service station in Sutton Coldfield. They look at a lot of classics and modern stuff, they've always looked after me okay.

I use 'Lickey Hills Garage' on the Lickey Hills funilly enough! just north of Bromsgrove.

The guy that runs the place is a mini buff so he knows his onions, and he loves mot-ing our minors!

depends where you are in Birmingham though really, it's a big place!

EDIT: also, welcome to birmingham! click the Birmingham Branch link in my sig and come along to a meeting!

Just across "the border" :D Solihull - Plume of Feathers Garage Ltd Shirley Solihull. Ask for Colin - he has looked after our family's 7 Minors for 15 years

Awesome, thanks for the response, this is great local advice. And, sorry for my delayed response.... I thought I had this thing setup to email me when someone responded. I'm in Moseley, so I think I'll give that Solihull suggestion a try. But yeah, I'll look to join an upcoming Brummy event.... I'll just make sure I work on my accent first (I'm Canadian :) ).
