Seat Refurbishment

Hi, after looking after myself for many years with a Triumph Spitfire, the wife finally nagged me into getting her a Morris Minor. Had to be black with red interior, split screen and 2 door (just like she drove when learning to drive). So we got it and now I need to have the seats and interior done. Can anyone recommend a company to do the work? Will post photos etc later. Regards Ian

Or you could just buy a new interior from Newton Commercial...

but sit down and take a deep breath before you do.. You do pay for quality and their quality is very good.

I assume paying a trimmer to refurb. the interior wouldn't be cheap either.

Newton Commercial are pretty good, but that said the carpet set they sent me for my Series II was [moderated]

I had to cut my own pedal holes in my NC Series MM carpets. They said that they were for left or right hand drive but the heal mat was on the right.

And not the correct pattern heel mat at that. No problem cutting my own holes, I had the old carpet as a template. The problem was the carpet was not bound as original at the handbrake and the cuts at the front of the footwell were not as original. Also the sections for the front wheel arches were cut completely differently (maybe the same as later cars).

I had requested a sample of carpet and although disappointed I had already resigned myself to the fact that the appearance was not the same as original and they could not match the original colour. So, although it looks ok, I had expected much better.

There are some really good morris minor carpets available from ebay sellers (brand new) - they are the best fit I've ever seen - especially around the gearstick/handbrake.
