Ingnition light

Driving a 50 MPH no problems the ignition light comes stays on engine stops . Starter works but no engine power'

any ideas or other post i can look at

Starter works - no engine power? Do you mean - the starter turns the engine but it won't start? Is anything else electrical working - lights/horn ?? I suspect a wire has come off (or burned out) at the ignition switch - if lights etc still work, then it will be a white wire that's broken. If all electricals have failed - then look for a brown wire disconnected.

Low tension wire come off the coil/distributer?

The red light wouldn't come on......at least not until the engine revs dropped low.

The engine revs would drop quickly if the coil was disconnected.

Yes - and the red light would glow until the dynamo stopped - hence my comment re wire off Ign switch etc, But need to know if anything else works!

Hopefully it wasn't the coil itself....... :-? just the connection ??? :)

This was definately the coil, it blew the innards out.

Must have had a bump - allowing the oil to run out!

This is not uncommon with these new Lucas coils...
