Morris A40 Farina?????

Gladys is a March 1962, 948 cc Moggie.
I desperately need a new carburettor float-chamber lid, float and valve-needle.
The problem is that I have tried up to 5 supposedly compatible lids, floats and valve needles without success.
I think the problem is that the carb might just be from an Austin A40................
The float-chamber lid has the mark, "PDC 1"
The triangular tab from the foremost float-chamber lid securing screw, which is said to ID the carb, gives the mark "AUC 980".
I have checked and checked with Burlen/SU website, and these numbers seem to come back to a carb for an Austin A40.
The pic below shows the "saucepan" type air-filter housing she has had since purchase, which doesn't seem to be the standard Moggie air-filter housing,
I should say that the "new" plastic type float which is supposed to be universal will not work on Gladys.
This type of float is NOT adjustable and always the chamber floods dramatically.
Also, the available needle-valves are small affairs whilst the original was much bigger , rather like the width of a pencil.
The older type float with adjustable shank, which needs setting to 5/16ths, 7/16ths, is the only one that will seem to have any chance of success.
Please can you help me out of this maze, and also tell me if it be the case that it is an A40 carb, that I replace it totally with the corect Moggie carb.
Best wishes[frame]
