Fitting New Rear Bearings

Hi, am fitting new rear bearings to 1964 Traveller, using sealed bearings RHP 6207 2RS made by Zen but when tapping hubs back they are pushing the seals back out. Should the hubs be fully knocked back or can I leave a space to tap the bearings flat, or are these seals not correct ? Thanks

Not getting you....... '2RS' bearings have seals built in - on both sides. So -which 'seals' are being pushed out ? Are you sure the 6207 (35 X 72 X 17) is the correct bearing for the job??

Hi, thanks for your reply, sorry the bearing is being pushed out when I tap back the hub by about 3-4mm.It doesnt seem to want to go back. The half shaft cannot be fitted. As far as i understand the 6207 is the bearing for the rear wheel and yes the 2RS has two seals. Thanks

2RS = 2 Rubber Seals........Be aware the bearing is lubricated by oil coming from the diff - the seals may keep this oil out of the bearing. Have you compared the new bearing size with the old bearings removed ?

Yes it is the same size, 35mm x 72mm x 17mm. I will try to re-fit, when it stops raining here!
