Has anyone got any bright ideas of how to get paint off chrome without damaging the chrome? The last person to repaint Lucy must have thought the door handles could do with some blue paint as well!!

I would say it depends on the chrome. Modern chrome you are probably best with a prayer.

Thinners on a clean cloth wiped over the paint several times should do the trick.

Wire wool will ruin the chrome...........

Depends on the coarseness used, on small areas i have personally never found any issues atall. This is admittedly with not perfect chrome, but equally its good quality chrome not this repo rubbish.

Wire Wool is good if the chrome isn't perfect, if it is the thinners should do the trick.....

Brasso, a scouring pad and a lot of rubbing will shift most of the rust patches off bumper blades and hub caps. I have not tried Brillo pads yet

In the body shop here we used,00grade steel wool,and soapy water.

I have had a go with paint thinners and no luck so Ill see how the wire wool goes! The chrome is far from perfect but it would look a whole lot better chrome coloured rather than blue!!
