As so often happens whilst repairing old cars, one small job can often lead to another and another and so on
Well as this seem's to be the scenario here i thought I'd post up a few bits and bobs as i progress around my car with an ever increasing list of 'ongoing' small jobs,
The story so far - well It all started with a rusty gutter and some big bubbles appearing at the bottom of the nearside door...

After sourcing a suitable replacement door I set about changing the two over but very quickly ran into some major trouble, no way was the replacement door going to fit into the door frame, removal of the front wing quickly followed and the discovery of a mangled A post and inner wing, after much confusion and lot's of head scraching i finally came to the conclusion that the car must of been involved in an accident at some point and was never repaired properly, sadly further investigation revealed that the intire passenger side of the car was made from twisted mangled metal and rediculas amounts of filler

The A post and rear section of the inner wing have been replaced along with repairs carried out to the lower kidney panel and both the inner / outer sill's, the replacement door now fits as it should and lines up nicely with almost perfect gap's, finally i replaced the guttering and painted the entire area with etch / zinc primmer's to complete the repairs to this area,

Working backwards i've now removed the B post and most of the rear quarter panels, temporary fitted a new inner wheel arch and replaced the rear half of the wing mounting lip,

Today i began to fabricate a new closing panel extension to replace the patched up rusty original,

Once this panel has been welded into position i will be able to continue fitting the donor quarter panel i've been getting ready...
