Screw Size ??.

Hi everyone,what type of screw do i need to go through the gear lever gaitor bracket that holds the carpet down on the transmission tunnel (1970 2 door saloon).?.

You need self tapping screws, about 1inch long, 6 or maybe 8 gauge with a round head. Originally chrome.

What an awful job. So frustrating,even after trimming some carpet off,and spending what seemed hours on it,could only get 4 screws attached,then reluctantly gave up.HOWEVER----------------it did the job,now looks fine,
