Starlet seats?

Has any one had any experience with fitting Toyota Starlet seats into a Minor? Are there starlets in the UK?

Mum has a '97 one and the measurements are pretty much right on - the back seat swab fits in the minor real neatly and I reckon the seat back will also fit - the front seats should be no problem as Dad and I will fabricate any brackets we need.

We went to town today and found a few starlets at wreckers - infact found a latest Echo (Yaris) but they are 200mm too wide between the wheel arches. Good sets of seats are dirt cheap.

We reckon we are going to give it a go. - Does any one have any experience with fitting any sort of modern seats? - esp back ones?

From about the same age... but I'm not sure it's precisely the same one. Should be, but you know what they're like with their model names.

That said, my neighbour's got one of the horrid little things, and the seats don't look too big, so it could be another one to add to the list - especially as Metros aren't too prevalent in NZ, I should imagine. :D

Yeah been down that road of thought a couple of times - one problem - the minor parks beside the starlet - Mum might click on! - Or maybe she might take to driving the Minor instead! - At least if both have the same seats she might be just as happy to drive either! (once we get the suspension done - every pot hole seems like the back end drops out!)
