Insurance Question

Post by Rob1600Minor »

Good morning I am hoping that someone can help with my problem of Insurance.

I am trying to insure my 1965 4 door saloon with a Ford 1800 zetec fitted with a few other mods english axle disc brakes etc

I am 28 and a traffic officer so my driving is not in question and i am only trying to insure for 3000 miles PA.

I used to insure it for £100 in standard form with footman james but they say they wont insure it now!

I have tried a few companies in the back of practical classics and have only managed to get one quote from performance direct of £468 which i think is mad when i pay less than that for a Alfa Romeo 147 GTA 3.2.

Can people please give me some names of who they are insured with ?

Thanks

Rob

I've used Performance Direct in the past (on a 911 not a Minor) and they were reasonably priced.

my minor is 1275 and insured with RH, no hassles at all.

One option you have if you're a club member is to phone the office and ask to speak to Ray Newell about the club insurance. He may not be aware that the club scheme won't cover some of the modified cars, and he has more leverage with FJ on behalf of the club.

where to break down next?

RH Classic Car Insurance is on 01277 206912. I have my 1275 minor with a few mods insured through them and they do seem quite competitive. :)
