Thank you

If you could post a photo of your glove box we can see which one it is and tell you how to fit it

Shove and wiggle. Probably easiest to get the fat side in first and shove it as far back as possible before trying to wiggle the thinner outer end in. Unbolting the support bar helps a bit, too. Not an elegant job, just a bit of applied violence required.

It was a while ago now but I think I found it much easier after removing the glove box lid (the box is held in place by the hinge screws anyway so you will need to remove them). Are you sure you have the right box, my morris minor catologue shows two different shapes, early type looks like it has 4 holes on the bottom outer and 2 on the side to hold it in place, later type has 2 holes on the bottom and 3 on the top.

There should be spring clips to hold the screws on each of the four holes in the liner. Make sure that there are no cables in the way then push the liner in sideways, thin end first and then twist it and pull it back over the lip of the glove box opening. Line the screw grips up with the holes in the glove box lip and secure the liner with a self tapping screw through each hole.

You need this sort of clip, 4 of them

It pushes over the holes in the cardboard glovebox liner, then once in place you screw the self tappeppers through the hole that should be in the body and into this clip to hold it in place.[frame]

Sorry to hijack this thread, but it is on a similar theme. Does anyone have photos of what the original 1956 S2 glove boxes would look like - ie types of doors/panels - and where would I find new 'inners' (ie the boxes themselves). Is there a supplier somewhere?
Cheers, Paul
